The Sports Massage Association is the UK professional body representing sports massage practitioners and the profession.
Driven by the increasing demand for sports massage among sports participants but
confusion as to who was appropriately qualified, the Sports Massage Association
was launched at the Commonwealth Games in Manchester in 2002 to be independent
body regulating sports massage practitioners in the UK. With support from the
leading sports bodies, related professional groups and educators it has grown to represent over 1000 members and is now recognised and the lead body for sports massage by the major employers in the UK.

OLYMPICS BEIJING 2008
Congratulations to Team GB
athletes and support staff on the fantastic results in Beijing.
Some SMA members were
lucky enough to be involved in the thick of the action working with teams at
holding camps, competition venues and in the athletes' village. Joan Watt and
Paula Clayton managed to get time to pose for this photo.
The focus now moves to the next four years, where there will be
significantly more opportunities for Sports Massage Professionals from the UK to
be involved at the games. Watch this space..... |
